To WWOZ

I am sorry if I hurt anyone's feelings. I really am. You are ALL nice
people though I don't think I will ever like Bob French. (I do like
his band!)

It's just that I am frustrated with your production values. Most
problems I've noticed are basic to radio: you shouldn't have wildly
different levels; you shouldn't overmodulate; it's nice to have all
the instruments and vocalists in a mix; you don't need to do a
station ID between every tune or every other one. (Every half hour is
adequate. Knowing what band or artist is on in a live set would be
better to repeat briefly...) Until different people (more
interesting, intelligent or not) volunteer to be DJs you are stuck
with what you have.

I hope that in future years, your ability to broadcast/webcast the
Jazz Fest will be better. I have been listening for about 10 years
now on the internet. I was impressed in 2006 at how well it was
done. The stream quality had improved and your production values were
so much better. I think David Kunian was mentioned as being in charge
of much of it then. This year was a step backwards.

I'll leave it at that.

Cheers,

John L
